Getting Here

The local airline, SATA, runs connecting flights between all nine islands. The international division of SATA, Azores Airlines, runs services to Continental Portugal and several other European and North American destinations. TAP, the Portuguese airline and a number of other European companies fly to the Azores (but not, as yet, to Horta). There is year-round ferry service between the islands of the Central Triangle and summer-only service connecting with the other groups. Here on Faial there is a rather meagre bus service. There is a stop located about 100 metres from the cottage but there are only three buses per day to Horta and return. Bus service on the other islands is no better. A rental car or motor scooter is recommended if you want to see all the island.
